Service animal & pets policy
Maple Bus provides accessible transportation in line with applicable Canadian accessibility regulations, and welcomes small pets in carriers.
Who can ride, and how
Service animals
Acceptance: Trained service animals accompany passengers with disabilities at no extra charge. Emotional support or comfort animals aren’t service animals unless approved in advance.
48-hour notice: Our shuttle-style vehicles have limited space, so give at least 48 hours’ notice before departure. Without notice we may not be able to accommodate the animal.
Travel permit: We may ask for documentation. Once approved, you’ll receive a Service Animal Travel Permit to show the driver at boarding.
On board: Leashed or harnessed, on the floor near you, never on seats or blocking aisles and emergency exits. You’re responsible for supervision and cleanliness.
Small pets
Carrier only: Only small pets in carriers are allowed, and your pet must stay inside its carrier.
Carrier size: Maximum 44 × 30 × 30 cm (17.5 × 12 × 12 in).
On your lap: Keep the carrier with you, on your lap, for the whole trip.
Tell us in advance: Let us know before you travel — space may be limited.
Maple Bus and Nordic Bus
Maple Bus is the operating carrier. Nordic Bus is a brand operated by Maple Bus Transportation, and vehicles may be branded either way depending on scheduling and availability. This policy applies to all services, under the same management, fleet and safety standards. Maple Bus may refuse or discontinue transport if safety concerns arise.
